What is Myotherapy?
Myotherapy is assessing and physically treating muscular pain, injury and dysfunction affecting movement. It aims to improve mobility, restore function and reduce pain. Myotherapy is applied in the preventative, corrective and rehabilitative phases of therapy. It aims to restore and maintain the normal integrity of muscles, tendons and ligaments.

About Body Align Myotherapy
Carissa Stewart
Carissa completed her Advanced Diploma in Myotherapy in 2002 and is a member of the Institute of Registered Myotherapists Australia.
Since then she has continued her education in Myotherapy through regular Myotherapy seminars and workshops, and also completed the post-graduate program in etiology, assessment, treatment and prevention of soft tissue dysfunction through the Australasian College of Soft Tissue Therapy.
In the past six years Carissa has treated an extensive amount of acute and chronic muscular pain, tightness and restriction of movement.
Carissa has a very strong interest in the rehabilitation of muscles which led her to further her studies in Pilates. Carissa has been a Pilates instructor for the last two years and completed her certification in Rehabilitation Pilates in 2008.
Ashlee Hayes
Ashlee completed her Advanced Diploma in Myotherapy from RMIT University and is also a member of the Institute of Registered Myotherapists Australia.
Ashlee has previously been a member of the Victorian Institute of Sport as an elite gymnast and pole vaulter. She has also worked as an acrobat in Japan for Tokyo Disney Sea and is well aware of the limitations that soft tissue dysfunction can cause in ones training, work and daily life.
Ashlee is passionate about incorporating prevention and rehabilitation exercises along with her treatment for her clients to receive quality, long-term results.
